Teen Who Was Shot In Colorado Dies, Claire Davis

Hospital: Teen who was shot at Colo. school dies

LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) - A suburban Denver high school student who was shot in the head by a classmate died Saturday afternoon, hospital officials said in a statement.

Claire Davis, 17, was in critical condition after being shot at point-blank range at Arapahoe High School on Dec. 13. Friends and well-wishers had posted prayers online and raised money to help pay for her medical care.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share that at 4:29 p.m. this afternoon, Claire Davis passed away, with her family at her side," the statement from Littleton Adventist Hospital.

"Despite the best efforts of our physicians and nursing staff, and Claire's fighting spirit, her injuries were too severe and the most advanced medical treatments could not prevent this tragic loss of life. Claire's death is immensely heartbreaking for our entire community, our staff and our families."

Karl Pierson, 18, shot Davis, who just happened to be sitting nearby with a friend as Pierson, armed with a shotgun, ammunition strapped to his body, Molotov cocktails and a machete, entered the school and headed toward the library. Davis appeared to be a random target, Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson has said.

Pierson likely intended to track down a librarian who had disciplined him, but Robinson said Pierson's arsenal suggested Pierson intended to hurt many others at the school just 8 miles from Columbine High School.

Pierson set off one of the incendiary devices and fired five shots before killing himself just one minute and 20 seconds after entering the building. He knew a sheriff's deputy assigned to the school was closing in, Robinson said at a news conference.

Senior Chris Davis, who is not related to Claire Davis, said she loved horses, had a lot of friends and always seemed happy. Chris Davis, whose locker is next to Claire's, helped organize a fundraising effort for her family.

Students held vigils for Davis after the shooting. Typical was a story told by classmate Maggie Hurlbut.

"One time I remember I was upset in the hallway, and she came up to me and she just - it was like, 'Hey Maggie, I know we don't know each other well but are you doing OK?' And I told her yeah, and she was like, 'Anything you need, I'm here for you,'" Hurlbut said. "Again, that's who she is, and she just wants to take care of others, and that was really just a good representation of her character and who she was."

Gov. John Hickenlooper visited Davis and her family at the hospital and had asked for prayers.

Sheriff Robinson called Davis "a young woman of principle" and "an innocent young lady."

Pierson's original target was believed to be a librarian who coached the school's speech and debate team. Pierson was a skilled speaker and debater on the team. The librarian, whose name was not released, had disciplined the teen in September for reasons that haven't been disclosed. Robinson said Pierson had made some sort of threat against the librarian in September.

"We are looking into that, to the degree that it was understood, and then what interactions or interventions took place," the sheriff said.

The librarian was able to escape the school unharmed, Robinson said.

Pierson legally purchased his shotgun at a local store a week before the shooting and bought the ammunition the day of the shooting. Anyone 18 and older is allowed to buy a shotgun in Colorado; only those over 21 can legally buy a handgun.

Pierson, whose parents were divorced, lived at least part of the time with his mother in a higher-end neighborhood in suburban Highlands Ranch.

The Arapahoe shooting came a day before the one-year anniversary of the Newtown, Conn., attack in which a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School

Daycare Owner Accused Of Killing 3 Year Old Girl For Not Taking Off her Coat

November 4th 2013. Hi everyone, this is Martin Maven here to give you my opinion on today's sickening and disturbing story.

First I will share the facts of the story with you. A 3 year old little girl from Iowa by the name of Autumn Elgersma, has died from wounds inflicted by her daycare provider.

The "Day Care Provider" Rochelle Sapp works out of her own home. She picked up Autumn and threw her to the ground because she wouldn't remove her coat. Keep in mind this is a 3 year old girl we're talking about. Rochelle then called Autumn's mother and said the girl had fallen down the stairs, this is the best story she could cook up.

Two days later Autumn died in Sioux Falls South Dakota children's hospital while receiving treatment for skull fracture and brain swelling. Doctors told authorities that the girl's injuries were inconsistent with falling down the stairs.

Police allege that Sapp, 33 admitted to throwing the girl to the ground when they re-interviewed the caretaker on Thursday about Autumn's injuries.

Sapp was charged with willful injury and child endangerment resulting in serious injury, both felonies but not serious enough for me. Autumn's death however means that new charges will be filed following the autopsy. Please comment on and share this blog post if you hate this woman as much as I do.

The parents are understandably very saddened at the loss of their little girl. They say they are strengthened by prayers from others in their difficult time.

"She was just fun to be around, and we're going to miss her a lot," next door neighbor Bev Rohrs told the newspaper Friday. Little Autumn Elgersma is gone, but not forgotten.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. Very tragic and sad ordeal.

Just a quick word. Parents please make sure you check out the people who will be watching your kids. You can never be too careful concerning your child's safety.

Pregnant Wife Brutally Stabbed At Home as Soldier Husband Watches on Video Chat

November 3rd 2013. My name is Martin Maven, today's current events are in. I found this particular story to be confusing and quite disturbing.

Apparently a soldier stationed overseas, I don't which branch of military but he watched in horror as his wife was brutally stabbed in her own home while they both video chatted.

A man had been hiding inside Rachel Poole's Texas home when he stabbed her multiple times on Wednesday. Rachel Poole was nine months pregnant at the time. The attacker was named by police as Corey Bernard Moss. He had stabbed Poole from behind repeatedly with a stainless steel knife. Ouch!

Poole was in critical condition when her baby, Isabella was born. Doctors performed a successful cesarean section. The baby was listed in good condition although she was sick from the medication they had administered to Rachel Poole.

Police detective Mike Baranyay told CNN that Rachel recognized her attacker and screamed his name repeatedly to her husband. Somehow this lady who had been brutally stabbed and nine months pregnant still managed to call authorities. Talk about the will to live!

A short time after, 19 year old Corey Bernard Moss was located by Fort Bliss military police and handed over to El Paso police. Supposedly the suspect had been in Rachel Poole's house before she came home.

Moss told investigators that the victim owed him money for car repairs, that's why he attacked the victim. Wow! Don't ever let this guy work on your car ladies. If you do you better pay him or else. Seriously, pay the guy.

He was charged with criminal attempted capital murder. His bond set at $150,000. Let's see if uncle Richie can come up with the money to bail him out.

This has been another Martin Maven update, please comment and share this post. Thanks!

Vikings Beheaded Slaves as "Grave Gifts" for Masters

Recent studies have shown that vikings were even more brutal than we previously thought.

Vikings were known to have taken slaves for physical labor and sex. Researchers in Norway have found evidence suggesting when Viking masters died , their slaves were beheaded and buried along side them.

Elise Naumaan, and archaeologist at the university came to this conclusion after analyzing ten viking-era bodies originally discovered in Flakstad Norway. They paid particular attention to graves with two or more bodies with only one head attached.

Okay so the two headless bodies were found to have eaten a much poorer diet compared to the one believed to have been the master. So basically if you were a slave when your master's time came, so did your's whether you were ready or not.

Lax Shooter's Note Said "He Wanted to Kill TSA"

November 1st 2013 at around 9am a man dressed in fatigues carrying a semi-automatic rifle and at least five 30 round magazines gunned down a Transportation Security Administration officer and wounded at least three others.

Eventually the gunman was wounded by police gunfire and FBI identified him as Paul Ciancia, 23 of Pennsville New Jersey. He had been living in Los Angeles.

Early Friday afternoon Ciancia's father had called authorities for help in finding his son after the young man had sent one of his siblings a text about committing suicide. Two roommates had stated that Thursday Cianica was just fine, no reason to suspect anything was awry.

After a gunfight with police Cianica was was shot in the face and apprehended. No official word on his condition as of yet. Frankly I don't care about his condition. He is just another idiot making it hard for law abiding sensible citizens to continue to have the right to bear arms. Just remember that automobiles are still more dangerous than guns. Have a nice day, this is Martin Maven.

Surveillance Camera Shows Ghost at Daytona Beach Hotel

At the Plaza Resort Spa at Daytona Beach hotel security was checking out surveillance footage when they noticed some sort of apparition moving downstairs toward the bar.

When the guard went downstairs the video showed that the apparition seemed to hide from him, it took on a nearly human form. The guard felt something, cold spells, keys dangling and even heard giggling. Kris Lenkiewicz, head of security, acknowledges events to be true and accurate. A female paranormal investigator will be invited to inspect and spend the night to diagnose the problem. I myself could have performed this service for them for a much lower price but they did not choose to hire me, too bad for them. Hope you all enjoyed this, don't stay in room 1111! Unless you dare to.
