Vikings Beheaded Slaves as "Grave Gifts" for Masters

Recent studies have shown that vikings were even more brutal than we previously thought.

Vikings were known to have taken slaves for physical labor and sex. Researchers in Norway have found evidence suggesting when Viking masters died , their slaves were beheaded and buried along side them.

Elise Naumaan, and archaeologist at the university came to this conclusion after analyzing ten viking-era bodies originally discovered in Flakstad Norway. They paid particular attention to graves with two or more bodies with only one head attached.
